Let’s Do It India is the Indian chapter of ‘Let’s Do It World’ organisation which aims to reduce the problem of illegally dumped waste in our country and conduct regular cleanup activities.
Our parent organization ‘let’s Do It! World’ has been operating on issues of environmental conservation for several years by mobilizing millions of positive-minded, action-orientated people and using innovative technological solutions to deal with waste issues in over 150 countries around the world. The organization is also in collaboration with United Nations.
An important motive of Let’s Do It India is to promote a greater understanding of the connections between people and their environment and to encourage creative thinking through hands-on education on waste management. We empower our community to protect and preserve the environment through environmental education and creative exploration.
Core to our beliefs is the notion that people want to do the right things; all they need is a little encouragement or incentive. We believe that people are naturally responsible; if we encourage them to care for their favourite places, to pick up after themselves and others, then our trails will become self-sufficient, clean, and more enjoyable.
Our Vision and Mission
The vision is a clean and healthy waste free world with resilient waste management systems and eradicated trash blindness in at least 150 countries.
Let's Do It! World is an international movement that tackles environmental and social problems related to illegally dumped solid waste by mobilizing millions of positive-minded, action-orientated people and using innovative technological solutions to deal with waste issues around the world.
The actions, partners and funds of the Let’s Do It! World movement are coordinated by the Let’s Do It Foundation
The Impact of the Let’s Do It
Education, communication and technology empower civic initiatives to make people see waste and take effective and well-informed action to manage it in the future. Once you pick it up, you are less likely to litter again; once there is a plan to keep it clean, we can work on achieving that.
Mapping litter, picking it up, bagging and sorting it would not only offer economic empowerment and entrepreneurship for local communities and big corporation alike, but it would also give access to clean environment and particularly to clean water. The impact of this process lies in the well-being of the communities around the world and in the pursuit of global sustainable development goals.
We are a civic led action aiming to involve 380 million people in a massive global clean-up day in 2018. Get on board and join us!
